Bio

Jeffery M. Coombs (“Jeff”) serves as counsel at East Coast Trial Lawyers, PLC and is a member of the Virginia State Bar. He has extensive experience in corporate law, notably in the representation of charitable entities in their U.S. operations.

Attorney Coombs provides business and non-profit services, including contract drafting and negotiation, corporation and LLC formation and organization.

His practice focuses primarily on service as outside general counsel to Christian ministries, providing a variety of business related services, including contract drafting and negotiation, corporation and LLC formation and organization, governmental compliance, strategic planning, and tax exemption.

A New Yorker, Jeff has made the Hampton Roads region of Virginia his home for 30 years.

In college, Jeff studied Bible, theology, and world missions, in preparation for service in ministry. Though he instead determined to practice law, his heart has remained inclined toward Christian service, and he has continued to serve churches over the years as a layman in various roles, such as leading Bible studies and teaching theology classes.

Jeff attended Regent University School of Law. He received the Beazley Scholarship and was awarded the degree Juris Doctor in 1992. He’s stayed connected with his alma mater by teaching as an adjunct professor and serving on its alumni board.

Jeff spent a number of years in business, most notably by serving in management in the food and nutritional supplement industries. Because of this background, he has an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing organizations in carrying out their operations.

Jeff is a member of American Mensa and attends Community Church of Chesapeake, where he’s active in men’s ministry and adult education.
